Dr. Nicki Nigro attended a surgical clinic in Naples, Florida over the weekend November 11 and 12, 2011. Along with 50 other prior residents of Dr. Alan Cantzaritti, director of the Western Pennsylvania Podiatric Residency Program, she learned the latest techniques offered to foot and ankle surgeons by Arthrex. Fast paced lectures followed by a wet lab to perform the surgical procedures was the format. Internal fixation devices,Anchors, and the latest “Speed Bridge” (A anchor and suture technique for achilles repair) were reviewed and performed as well as Ankle Arthroscopy.
Dr. Nigro, who was one of Dr. Alan Cantanzaritti’s first residents enjoyed being with the other practicing physicians from the West Penn Surgical program and the dynamic teaching methods offered by the Arthrex lab.
