Dr. Nicki Nigro has an interesting path that led her to Pittsburgh. She grew up in a small dairy farming town called Charleston, Arkansas. She graduated fifth in her class and deferring scholarship offers to play basketball at two junior colleges she went where her heart desired; she wanted to be a Razorback. She moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas where she was 1985 graduate of the University of Arkansas with a B.A. in Exercise Science and Physiology. This degree introduced her to the field of Podiatry. She moved to Des Moines, Iowa to complete her doctorate and was a 1989 graduate of Des Moines University (College of Podiatric Medicine & Surgery). She was “matched” to The Podiatry Hospital of Pittsburgh to complete her training in surgery. The Podiatry Hospital of Pittsburgh was a two year intensive surgical training program. She learned a lot there, but also met her husband, Jeff Nigro!
Dr. Nigro has been practicing medicine in this area for 20 years. She is Board Certified in Foot Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. She is a member of the Residency Committee for The Western Pennsylvania Podiatric Surgical Residency Program. She is married to Dr. Jeff Nigro and they have 2 children.
Dr. Nigro sees patients at the Glenshaw, Vandergrift and Natrona Heights offices.
